An intergalactic internal comms project
01 May 2010
Sent to over 3,100 Elsevier employees in offices across America, this 'breaking news' video is part of a big internal comms campaign to raise awareness of, and reshape the Learning & Development provision. It began with a series of on-site posters and direct mail postcards showing photographs of 'shapes in the sky' above Elsevier buildings and on familiar local skylines. Could it be an alien invasion? The employees were driven to a blog to discuss the matter further.
This video represents the next stage of the project - the big reveal. The aliens are in fact friendly 'L&Dians', come to change the face of Learning and Development as we know it. Employees are driven to a website, where they can fill in a questionnaire to reveal their training needs. They can also hear the 'L&Dians' speak in their language, and hear interviews from UK Elsevier employees and their experiences of the 'L&Dians'. (The programme having been piloted in the UK.)
The answers from the questionnaire will be analysed and used to develop an L&D curriculum, which employees will be able to access via the online portal we've built. (It's already launched in the UK to much acclaim.)
